Welcome to Michelle Obama STEM Elementary Academy

Michelle Obama STEM Elementary Academy opened at the start of the 2020-2021 academic year in Hampton, Georgia.  Unique and intentional in design, Michelle Obama STEM Elementary Academy was “birthed” from the former Eddie J. White K-8 Academy that had served southern Clayton County for ten years.  Enrollment for the inaugural year was 675 Kindergarten through fifth grade students. Followed by 868 students in the 2021-2022 school year.  Currently at a neighboring campus, the staff and leaders of Michelle Obama STEM Academy continue serving 1,038 Prekindergarten - Fifth students from the geographic “Panhandle” communities of Clayton County.

Michelle Obama STEM Academy is a growing professional learning community of staff members that collaborate to cultivate well-rounded citizens.  In addition to the core academic content areas, our scholars attend electives classes in art, music, computer science, physical education and STEM exploratory. Michelle Obama STEM Academy also offers a variety of opportunities to both discover and develop the aptitudes of students. The staff and students of Michelle Obama STEM Academy embrace a positive behavior approach to teaching, learning and interacting with each other that fosters an ideal learning environment
