Karisa Walker, EdD

 Assistant Principal for Grades 3, 4, and 5

An accomplished educator with a background in instructional technology, curriculum development, and educational leadership, Dr. Walker brings a wealth of academic knowledge and practical experience to the field of education.

With a career spanning nearly two decades, Dr. Walker has served in various roles within education. Notably, as an Assistant Principal at Michelle Obama STEM Academy since the 2018-2019 school year. Dr. Walker has been instrumental in overseeing the operational and academic aspects of our illustrious academy. Dr. Walker ensures the smooth functioning of school operations while fostering a conducive environment for student success.

Bonita Adams, EdD

 Assistant Principal for Grades Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd

During my 25 plus year career as an educator, I have served students as both a teacher and an academic coach. As an academic coach, I facilitated professional learning experiences and as a teacher, I facilitated opportunities for student academic achievement. Although I have demonstrated to be an effective teacher in the classroom and have built capacity for the use of effective instructional strategies among many of my colleagues, I am still growing as an instructional leader. I want to “pay forward” the experiences I had as a teacher to the many innovative teachers I serve in our school. I encourage you to join me in supporting a culture of excellence by actively participating in your child's educational experience.
